Halesi Cave – Sacred Pilgrimage Site Located in the Khotang District of eastern Nepal, Halesi Cave is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the country. Known as the “Pashupatinath of the East,” this ancient cave temple is situated about 215 kilometers east of Kathmandu. Perched atop a small hill, the cave is both mysterious and magnificent, believed to be over 6,000 years old. The cave holds religious significance for Hindus, Buddhists, and Kirants alike. Inside, you’ll find naturally formed rock formations and sacred shrines. Two holy rivers, the Dudh Koshi (Milk River) and the Sun Koshi (Gold River), flow nearby, adding to the spiritual ambiance of this sacred landscape. Pattale Village – Everest Viewpoint from the Lowlands After exploring Halesi, the journey continues to Pattale Village, located in the lower Everest region of the Solukhumbu District, within Solududhkunda Municipality. Situated at an altitude of 2,840 meters, Pattale is one of the best and most accessible destinations for Everest viewing from Kathmandu. Pattale offers stunning sunrise views over the Himalayas.
